If you’re looking for something more low maintenance and tracking vehicles or fleets, you can draw power continuously, right from your vehicle’s OBD port.

3 Spytec GPS Trackers To Choose From
With these two different power sources (battery-powered and non-battery-powered), Spytec offers three options for GPS tracking devices:
- The GL300 Real-Time GPS Tracker is wireless, battery-powered, and can be placed virtually anywhere.
- The Hardwired GPS Tracker is wired to and powered by a vehicle's electrical system.
- The OBD GPS Tracker for Vehicles & Fleets plugs directly into and is powered by the vehicle's OBD port.

Using battery-powered devices
Battery-powered devices are common for companies with moving assets. However, it’s important to keep in mind that you need to consider recharging batteries as time goes on.
Here are a few examples of those who use battery-powered GPS tracking devices:
- Retail companies to track clothes and shipments. Good for visibility & help recover any stolen items
